Meet The Face Behind Aberdeen Chiropractic
I’m Dr. Robert Speirs DC, the proud owner of Aberdeen Chiropractic.
I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
After suffering an injury playing hockey in 1996, I visited a chiropractor. The method he used to restore my back to full mobility was fantastic and changed the direction of my life forever.
From that day on, I learned as much as I could about using Chiropractic to treat pain and help increase performance. After I got my qualification, I worked at the Walkley Chiropractic Group in Australia, which gave me excellent exposure.
Once I returned to Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 2008, I joined Aberdeen Chiropractic, which had been an established business since 1978. Two years later, I got the opportunity to take over the firm and continue the excellent work started by the previous owner.
I also added cutting edge methods as technology moved forward. What was once an adjustment only practice now includes modern techniques and modalities such as laser therapy, IASTM, and advanced interferential current therapy. I also practice acupuncture, render exercise rehabilitation in addition to offering traditional Chiropractic care.
As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my safe, ethical, and effective care. There are no pre-set care plans and no hard sell tactics, and I treat every person who comes to me for help equally, and their treatment is a reflection of that.
I also attribute my success to being committed to continuous learning. By making my day about the patients and not myself, I’ve learned that sometimes you need to know how to deliver news, good or bad, in a way that may seem backward to you but is right for the patient, which took time to imbibe.
The first time that someone told me that they were able to do things they couldn’t do before receiving treatment is something I will never forget. Not many things are as rewarding as seeing someone who came in doubled over in pain, walking out feeling great.
The case that makes me smile most is when a man who was unable to practice woodworking anymore due to arthritic hands and fingers was cured. Seeing his smile when he told me how he could get back to work after just a few weeks of laser and mobilization work makes this one of the greatest professions on earth.
When I am not fixing backs, I’m an athlete at heart who loves golf, hockey, and spending time keeping active with my wife and kids. That said, my favorite hobby is sitting in my basement once everyone is asleep and playing my guitar with my headphones on, as there is no better way to melt away the stress.
I also give my support to mental health programs in my spare time. After suffering for more than three years with post-concussion syndrome, I know first-hand the devastation it can bring to your life. We need to end the stigma around mental health and keep the conversation alive.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
If you or someone you know could benefit from my expertise as a chiropractor in Winnipeg, MB, I invite you to get in touch. Please visit my website at www.aberdeenchiropractic.ca.
Sincerely,
Dr. Robert Speirs DC
